The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 6: Limited Wills: Elementals Are Like Animals and Plants
Elementals Are Like Animals and Plants
Okay…so maybe you might agree
about angels, that they are highly free will beings, but what about elementals;
those forces of nature that cause all things to move? On the surface it may seem as though they
have no free will. After all, like
plants, the forces behind nature seem to act more like a computer, following
set guidelines and patterns.
To be sure, there is no real way
to know if they have enslaved or free wills or to what degree their wills are
free. I would say that if you observe
nature you find that elementals, or the forces of nature, are much like animals
and plants. Some forces of nature are
sporadic and unpredictable even as a wild animal can be sporadic and
unpredictable at times. Sure, even wild
animals have some patterns in how they function and operate, but there is
always that hint of unpredictable that is there. Many animal experts have been killed because
they were confident that they could predict an animal’s actions only to find
out that they were very wrong. In the
same way, some forces of nature we think we know how they are going to behave,
but in the end, for whatever reason, they “choose” to do something
different. Weather is a good example of
this type of force of nature.
But then there are forces of
nature that ALWAYS do what is expected.
It is like they are programmed to do the same thing all the time, every
time. There is never a variation in the
way they will react to things. Gravity,
for example, always does what it is supposed to each and every time. It obeys its set commands and functions the
same way all the time.
Therefore, it is logical to
conclude that some forces of nature, some elementals, have more enslaved wills
while others have more free wills, just as plants have more enslaved wills and
animals have more free wills. With the
free will elementals, they seem to be very similar to animals in that although
they are free and can make choices of their own, nevertheless they are
programmed to be more subservient. Just
as a wild animal can be tamed by men, so it makes sense that angels can, and
they likely do, tame elementals.
