The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 3: Understanding the Trinity: The Trinity, Three Distinct Beings in One: The Soul (The Law/ ALU)
The Trinity, Three Distinct Beings in One:
The Soul (The Law/ ALU)
So what, then, is the ALU? If the Flesh, or Id, is self-centered and the
Spirit, or Ego, is other-centered, what is left?
The best way that I can describe
the ALU is to say that it is the king of your conscious mind. It is neither self-centered nor
other-centered, but it determines which part of the mind it will listen
to. The control unit brings information
to the ALU from the programming as well as from outside sources (this being a
computer user’s commands or another computer trying to communicate with it,
etc.). Likewise, the Spirit delivers all
input from both itself and the Flesh to the human’s version of the ALU. The ALU then weighs the self-centered
thoughts and the other-centered thoughts and makes a decision. Will the decision be self-centered this time
or other-centered?...basically will the decision be to follow the Flesh or the
Spirit…or will the ALU decide to compromise between the two and develop a
creative solution to make both sides happy?
This part of the psyche,
according to Sigmund Freud, is the Superego.
In the Bible it is called the Soul.
The Soul, then, is neither self-centered nor other-centered. It is the judge who uses logic and reason to
make decisions. It is the Soul that
hears the arguments from both the Flesh and Spirit and it decides which to
listen to.
Computers do this all the
time. The ALU receives input from a user
and input from the programming all the time.
When the two conflict it must decide which to listen to. Should it obey the input it receives from
outside sources (again, the user) or should it obey the input it receives from
the programming?
