The Mystery of Creation: Introduction

The Mystery of Creation

Introduction
This book endeavors to explain as many of the mysteries of the Bible as I feel that God has given me to reveal.  I will take you on a journey from before the world began all the way through to the end of the world.  As I take you on this journey I plan on explaining to you why I believe what I believe, presenting to you logical arguments based on the evidences that we have.  My hope is to present this book to you as if you are reading a mystery novel.  I will act as the detective and you as my “Watson.”  As we go through the history of all things as we know them, I try to point out various details that have led me to my conclusions.
So try to look at it all from the perspective of solving the following mysteries:  “Who or what created the universe?”  “Why did the universe as we know it get created?”  “How did the universe get created?”  In other words, like any mystery, we are going to determine who or what the culprit is, the motive behind why they did it, and the means that they used to do it with.  Then, as we unravel one mystery we are going to discover other mysteries and solve for them as well.
Now I should probably give you at least some background about myself.  I have been a Christian my whole life.  I grew up in the Assemblies of God.  I gave my heart to the Lord when I was in kindergarten.  When I was about ten my family and I stopped going to church, so I went through a long period of time where church was an Easter/Christmas type thing.  My grandmother, however, never stopped praying for me and my brothers, and she never stopped talking to us about Christ.
This became a very confusing time in my life.  I was torn between two worlds, and I didn’t know what to believe anymore.  So I started to explore different religions and what they believed.  I even went through a period of time where I rejected the idea of God altogether.  I took the stance of an atheist, trying to view the world from their standpoint to see if it made sense.
When I got to high school I decided to rededicate my heart to Christ.  After a great deal of soul-searching and thinking and studying and searching, what I discovered was that Christ IS the truth.  No…I am not one of those people who was persuaded into this thinking by others.  In fact, I vowed and was determined that I would not allow any to persuade me one way or another.  I did not let Christians teach me.  I read the Bible.  I said to myself, “The Bible is supposedly the source of all Christian beliefs.  Therefore, whatever the Bible says is what Christians ought to believe.  Therefore, I will not let anyone teach me because they may be using the Bible and twisting it to believe whatever they want to believe.”  I also continued to seek out other religions and such in an attempt to make sure that I wasn’t just serving a mythical god but the only One True God.
My point in saying all this is to let you, the reader, know that I’m not brainwashed, as some are in the habit of saying that all Christians are, and I’m not someone who just believes something because my emotions are all wrapped up in it.  I am an individual who has studied things for myself.  I have pondered and considered others’ opinions and beliefs.  Although I’m sure I’ve missed some religions, as there are simply too many to study them all, I have studied up on most of the major religions in the world.  I also don’t pretend to know everything nor am I saying that I have examined every angle.  I’m sure I’ve missed things along the way.  Again, there is simply too much information to truly say that I’ve studied it all.
Nevertheless, I have found all religions that I have reviewed to be lacking, as I have found atheism to be lacking.  I find it quite interesting that almost every religion, every belief, even science, has truth in it, leading people to the One True God, but these truths are buried deep under the hypotheses and theories that confuse people and lead them away from this God.  However, Christianity is the ONLY religion that is 100% true.  It is the only one religion that truly makes sense, and the interesting thing is…it’s not SUPPOSED to be a religion at all!
Christ IS, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the only truth.  My hope and intention in this book is to guide you along many of the thought processes that I’ve had throughout my life that all lead me to this conclusion.
