The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 5: The Unseen Kingdom of God: Elementals
Elementals
The Bible calls these beings
angels. Angels are like the programs in
a computer system that assist God in the functioning and creation of all other
programs. They are spiritual beings that
have no set image or visible form, just as game engines themselves within a
computer have no image in a video game world.
They help the video game function and are essential to its function, but
the player never even knows they are there.
I mean, just load up a video game of any kind. Do you know the name of the game engine that
is actually controlling and maintaining your game? Only computer geeks like myself might pay
attention to the image that pops up during the game’s initial load that says, “Archangels
Game Engine”. This image only represents
the immense number of commands that make up the game engine program, but the
game engine itself has no real image.
Spiritual beings are, therefore,
beings with certain responsibilities.
Some are made with simple responsibilities. These would be what ancient peoples called “Elementals.” Some might call them lesser spirits. We today think the ancient people were crazy
and such for believing in these spirits of the wind and air and water, but the
truth is that these ancient people weren’t far off from the truth. Just as any video game or program has lesser
files that run lesser functions of the program, so our universe is made up of
many spirits; some great and some small.
Some have higher intelligence and some far lower.
If you don’t like the word angel
or spirit you could always use that word “force.” People today seem to like “force” better. Today we say that there is a “force of
nature” or a “force of gravity.” It’s
really quite funny because if I said “spirit of nature” or “spirit of gravity”
I’m pretty sure lots of people would think I was old-fashioned and just a bit
crazy. However, if we just change one
word modern people understand and accept it more readily. People in ancient times, however, would have
looked at you funny for using the word “force.”
The truth is they are really one
and the same. I mean, what is force but
some sort of invisible energy or power that moves things. When we use force in our bodies we are using
energy to apply pressure to something in order to move it. The force of gravity keeps everything on the
planet. It pushes us all down in
place.
So use whatever word you want,
but spirit and force are pretty much the same thing. Also, you could easily substitute angel and
spirit because angels are spiritual beings.
They are not physical beings. It
is as if, relating back to the computer, the control unit has syphoned off
energy into different areas of the system and the energy that is syphoned off
is given its own control unit and ALU to command it. Now that this energy has its own control unit
and ALU to command it, the main control unit and ALU are freed up to do other
things.
“But!” you might say, “…forces
in our universe don’t have intelligence.
What you are suggesting is that forces and spirits are the same
thing. However, if that is true, forces
must also have intelligence. After all,
you said that spirits have intelligence.”
And then you might say, “Forces don’t have intelligence. That’s ridiculous!”
Well, again, what is
intelligence?
I’m repeating myself because I
want to hit this point home. Intelligence
is the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one’s environment or the
ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Force, then, also has intelligence because it
must be able to gather and apply knowledge if it is to interact with anything
in our universe.
Back to the computer to
illustrate. Anyone who creates a video
game has to create intelligent laws that dictate how “gravity” in a video game
interacts with the characters in their world.
The “law of gravity” in a video game interacts with the laws that
dictate a character’s placement on the screen and how it moves on the
screen. Without any intelligence then
the character would not interact at all with the law of gravity and it would
fly off in whatever direction without rhyme or reason. The laws of gravity in a video game, in fact,
are quite complex, and if they are not created in such a way as to account for
all potential possibilities of movement on the screen, a glitch would occur
whenever the character moved a certain way.
So you can call a spirit a force
and you can call intelligence just the rules that govern things, but the
concepts are all there. You have lesser
forces and you have greater forces. You
have lesser spirits and you have greater spirits. You have simpler spirits with very little
intelligence and you have greater spirits with super intelligences. You have things in our universe with very few
rules and laws to govern them and you have things in this universe with very
complex rules and laws to govern them.
It matters very little which you choose to accept. They are one and the same but called
different things and viewed in different lights by different people.
And why do we like to view a
force as being different from a spirit?
We do this because we don’t want to think of a force as having any
intelligence. If we strip it of its
intelligence we de-humanize it. This
means that we don’t feel guilty about manipulating it or destroying it or doing
whatever we want to it. If we think it
is merely an unintelligent, unemotional thing we have no problem knowing that
it is there and using it.
The moment we say, “It has
intelligence,” we start getting a bit freaked out. “Is it watching me?” “If I use it, does it feel pain?” “Am I being pushed down by an intelligent spirit
of gravity as if some being with hands and arms and a body is pushing down on
my shoulders and keeping me on the ground?”
No…just because it is
intelligent doesn’t mean it is like a human being with arms and legs and feet
and hands and eyes and mouth and nose. Just
because it has intelligence doesn’t mean it is spying on you and always
watching you. It is not human. It is not a he or a she. Their intelligence is like simple programming
in a computer. They don’t feel unless
God has programmed them to feel. They
don’t think beyond the intelligence level that God has given them.
So a spirit of the wind, for
example, doesn’t view you as a human being.
It blows past you and treats you just like any other object that it is
blowing past. If we funnel or channel or
control the wind, it is not aware of who or what is doing this. It merely acts based on the rules it is
given. The more wind we build up within
something, the greater the pressure against the container that is surrounding
it. This is all it understands and all
it knows.
In a computer, if the programmer
has not programmed the ALU to recognize something then it simply will not
recognize that something. No matter what
that something does the computer will not know it is there. Why do you think that viruses go undetected
in computers? Viruses are created in
such a way that computers don’t recognize it as a virus and so they don’t even
know they are there.
The same concept is true for
intelligent “spirits” or “forces” in our universe. A hydrogen atom isn’t programmed to recognize
you as a human being. Its intelligence
is so small that all it understands and knows is how to bond with other
elements. It has no awareness of
anything but other atoms. If we destroy
this atom, it has no idea what has been done to it. It doesn’t understand such things. If we destroy a hydrogen atom it is like a
person getting hit in the head from behind.
Because the person did not see the attack coming, because he did not
recognize the attack, he wouldn’t even know what hit him.
And, of course, we don’t want to
think of them as intelligent because we don’t want to think that we are harming
intelligent things when we manipulate our environment. If people realized that their environment was
filled with living spirits that are intelligent they would have a harder time
with… well…a lot of things.
But again, though the
environment is filled with intelligent spirits, or forces if you feel more
comfortable with that, it is an environment that we were made to live in. God intended for us to use our environment
and live in our environment. Although we
should respect our environment and treat it with reverence, for God has made it
for us and given it to us, we should not be so overly afraid to destroy
something. (God never actually intended for
us to even think of our environment as being alive and intelligent in any way. He always wanted us just to enjoy it and do
whatever we wanted to it. But that we
will get into later.)
Therefore,
whether you call them spirits or forces, they are the same. They are faceless, imageless, body-less and
non-physical beings that have a wide range of intelligences. Some are so unintelligent that they are
limited to very simple functions. Others
are so intelligent that they make us humans look like Neanderthals.
