Just a Metaphor

                Now keep in mind that this is just a metaphor.  I’m not actually saying that this is exactly how it all is.  I am merely saying that this is what the realm of angels and elementals, the realm of spiritual beings, is like.  Hopefully you get the idea. 

                In truth, Michael, being a Captain of the Guard set to protect God’s people, is more like a military officer.  He is in charge of captains of angels who then are in charge of their units.  These soldiers are then spread throughout the world, hovering near to God’s people to protect them every day. 

                When a person, for example, is driving in traffic and a car is about to hit them, a unit of angels is there to bring the person’s attention to the car about to hit them.  They also work to help the person with their reaction time to the situation and so forth.  They think faster than a human does, just as a computer’s processor works faster than a human’s brain in many ways.  Even so angels often help to protect people by watching for dangers and helping humans react more swiftly to those dangers.

                Does this mean that when bad things happen it is because angels have failed to protect us?  No.  Bad things happen, as we will get into later, because we humans have messed up our world.  We have messed up God’s system, and now we are paying the price for it.  Angels are doing everything within their power to protect all of God’s creations, but they are fighting against MANY opposing and powerful forces that would destroy God’s works.  Thus, bad things happen because (and again we’ll get into this more later) we sinned and destroyed the perfect system and thus demons, fallen angels, are able to roam about the world like viruses within a computer system; plaguing and destroying every program, every creation that they can.

                Does all this make sense that God would have need for soldiers and police?  Absolutely!  It is far more efficient for a computer programmer to create virus protection programs than it is for the programmer to constantly be searching manually through the database for viruses.  It is also much more beneficial to the user that there is software that seeks out dangerous malware on a website before you start a download to prevent your system from getting infected in the first place. 

                In the same way, God would also have soldiers and guards to protect His work and His people.  He would have angels who are always scouting and searching for demons, again who are like computer viruses, who are just lying in wait to take out God’s people.  He would not want to do all the policing Himself.
