The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 5: The Unseen Kingdom of God: The Three Heavens

The Three Heavens
So we discussed the “Third Heaven.”  Well, if there are three heavens, according to the Bible, what are the other two?  The “First Heaven” is all around us.  It is the unseen code in the air we breathe.  It is the unseen code that describes the distance between one rock and the next.  It is the environment that we dwell in.  In the video game world, it would be like the world that a person’s character, their avatar, exists in.
That makes sense, doesn’t it?  The Bible calls Satan the “Prince of the Power of the Air” meaning that He is always working in the world around us to bring evil things down upon people.  As we will see in a later chapter, Satan is always looking to destroy humans and God’s work.  He works diligently, day and night, on Earth, in our very own environment, to undermine everything that is good.
As mentioned earlier, he and his demons are like viruses that have infected the system.  They are always trying to destroy it and cause glitches and malfunctions.  They are always looking to kill “players”, we humans, or weaken us or tempt us to kill ourselves.  In fact, all health problems are like glitches in the system.  Something has glitched in our bodies, and it is no longer functioning as it is supposed to.
The “Second Heaven” is everything else in the universe.  It is space.  It is all of the other planets.  It is the sun and moon and stars.  Everything else that exists in the universe from black holes to nebula are engulfed by the “Second Heaven” and exist within the “Second Heaven”.  Or…rather…it is more like the “Second Heaven” exists behind the scenes, just as in a video game.  You don’t see it, but it is all around every single object you can see.  It creates it.  It defines it.
Think of it like this.  The “First Heaven” is like a city.  We dwell within this city.  Our spirits exist within the walls of this city.  Our spirits communicate with other spirits without our conscious minds even really thinking about it.  That’s why many times we think things we don’t normally think or we feel things even when there is no reason to feel a certain way.  It is because there are spirits influencing our lives all the time.  We dwell not only in a physical domain but also an unseen, invisible domain, “The First Heaven.”
But outside of this city is a vast wilderness.  In this wilderness there are other spirits that are wild and untamed.  They are dangerous and hostile.  If you leave this city, “The First Heaven” and you head into space, you enter this vast and dangerous wilderness called “The Second Heaven.”
This is why space is so hostile to humans.  We were never meant to exist in this terrible wilderness.  We were meant to remain in “The First Heaven” where it is safe; inside the protective walls of our city.  The wilderness is not meant for people to dwell in.  It is merely what lies between two cities.
And so, beyond the great wilderness of “The Second Heaven” is the city called “The Third Heaven” or just “Heaven.”  Here is where God rules all things.  Here is where the King dwells.  Here is where the King’s most trusted servants live.  It is the capital city.
When a person dies, their spirits and souls have no body left to dwell in.  Their home here in “The First Heaven” is over.  They have no more connection to it.  Therefore, God does not leave people here to dwell after they die.  He does not need any more spirits messing around with people in the Earth.
So He sends His angels to grab the spirits, along with the souls or course, of people who have died, and they bring them before God in “The Third Heaven”.  Once before God, it is here that He determines whether a person is destined to remain with Him in Heaven or whether they should be cast into Hell.  You cannot go to Heaven to stand before God unless His angels come and get you and bring you there.  Otherwise, you would have to cross the vast wilderness of “The Second Heaven” to get to it…all alone…without protection.
So when we say “Heaven” we really mean the Capital City of God.  However, there is a spiritual realm out there of existence outside of Heaven.  It is all around us, “The First Heaven”, and it is above us, “The Second Heaven”.
It is as vast to us as a computer’s entire system is to a tiny particle of energy.  However, just as energy can pass from one part of a computer all the way to the opposite end of a computer in a split second, so can spirits transport all over the universe in a matter of moments.  They have no clunky, physical forms to slow them down.  They are pure energy and force, and they can move at speeds that are faster than sound or light.
So although God’s throne may be a gazillion lightyears away – assuming it is a gazillion lightyears away - God can, and so can His angels, be on Earth in a split second.  As fast as the energy can flit through a computer so God can be anywhere in the universe at once, and so can angels.  Space is not the same for them as it is for us.  It is more like a computer in that you can pop up one window or another simply by entering in the correct address into your browser or clicking on the right icon on the screen.  It doesn’t matter how convoluted the address is, if you enter the address correctly the computer will pop that window up or run that program instantly.  All they need to do is enter the coordinates and they are there, in an instant.
It is, again, like an online video game.  Players from all over the world can interact with one another without being physically together.  In a matter of a few moments, I can send a message to someone all the way on the other side of the world.  That is how angels and God are.
So although God may seem very far away, His throne is actually a fraction of a second away from us at any moment.  Our prayers can be instantly transmitted to God.  Also, His Spirit, remember, is everywhere.  Therefore, in truth, God is all around us and in us at all times.  He isn’t really far away at all.  The Father exists in the “Third Heaven” that is somewhere way out there physically, and the Son, Jesus, the Word, went to go be with the Father somewhere way out there, physically, but both the Father and the Son are connected directly to the Holy Spirit, and because the Holy Spirit is everywhere, God the Father and God the Son are everywhere as well and can be anywhere they want to be in the twinkling of an eye.
And again, this makes sense when you think about a video game.  At any point in a video game a new character, a new avatar, can be loaded into the game.  If the computer is fast enough, that character can be loaded into the game in a moment.  A person who is playing the game could be connected to this world from a computer on the other side of the world.  However, they are instantly connected to the server and dropped into the world.
And God would need it to work like this in order to have His entire creation, all of the universe, be as efficient as possible.  He would need His Spirit, and the angels that aid Him, to move instantly throughout the entire universe so that they could control and maintain all things efficiently.
So it only makes sense that before God created all things He established a race of beings known as the angels, and He set up all lesser spirits, that I call elementals, to obey these angels.  They are spiritual beings of immense power.  They are like mini-processors in a computer, going about with minds and wills of their own and doing God’s work for Him and in tandem with Him.
