The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 3: Understanding the Trinity: Spirits Have Ethereal Bodies
Spirits Have Ethereal Bodies
Now, according to the Bible, spirits
are vessels that can actually move and do things. They aren’t just invisible energy that flows
through a system. A spirit can hover
over things, just as Genesis 1:2 says, “And the Spirit of God was hovering…”
showing that God was present in Spirit above the surface of the Earth. Now the Holy Spirit is everywhere, just as
the energy is everywhere within the computer.
What Genesis was saying, though, is that God’s very conscious mind was
hovering there over the Earth. He was
focused on the Earth at that time. His “control
unit” was focusing a good deal of energy on Earth’s creation.
Besides this, there are many
others that refer to the Spirit of the Lord coming upon someone, or the spirit
leaving a person’s body. Genesis 7:22
indicates that the spirit is like a breath, or like a gas in the air. 1 Samuel 28:13 says, “I saw a spirit
ascending out of the earth.” 1 Kings
22:21 says, “Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 5:3 says, “For I indeed, as
absent in body but present in spirit.”
There are so many more, but the point is that if it can come upon
something and/or leave it, if it can hover, if it can stand before someone or
something, then it must be an entity or an invisible, ethereal vessel.
This makes sense from a
non-Biblical perspective too. Forces
move things. Force creates
movement. Therefore, as bodies interact
with other bodies, forces interact with bodies and other forces. You can have two forces of gravity working
against one another. Two magnets can
create a force between them that attracts one another or repels one another
depending on which end of the magnets you have facing each other. The harder you try to push the two magnets
together the more resistance you get. It
is as if you are attempting to squeeze something large into a very small hole. Likewise, that same magnet can actually push
the other magnet without touching it because the two forces are working against
one another like two bodies pressing against one another.
Not only this, but other things
indicate that forces, or spirits, are like invisible bodies. A shockwave is not a physical force. However, it can knock you over. Low pressure systems and high pressure
systems in weather can form tornados.
Over and over again we can see that forces are things that move, and if
they can move then they are bodies of some kind.
