The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 2: Who or What Created the Universe?: Something or Some Things?
Something or Some Things?
So now that we know that at
least one thing must have existed and will always exist throughout all time and
space, we must try to narrow this down further.
Is this eternal something just one thing or a collection of many things? The answer is that there is one something
made up of many somethings. How can we
know this? If the eternal something was
all just one thing then nothing would ever change. That eternal something would simply exist,
forever, without any modification or change.
For example, if I type the
number 1 on a computer screen and never hit any other keys, that 1 will stay on
that screen forever. If 1 is the only
number that existed then there would never be a 2-10, and so forth. Only 1 would have ever existed and would ever
exist. There would be no change on the
computer screen.
In order to have change on the
computer screen, there must be more than one number. As soon as I create even one other number,
let’s say 0, I can now create an infinite number of new numbers. (Creating definitions with just 0 and 1 is
the basis of the computer language known as Binary. Using just two numbers, computer programmers
can literally create all sorts of software.
The combination of the two numbers change the meaning. So 01000 means something different from
011001, and so on.)
So, in order to have an eternal
something, there must be limited somethings that make up the eternal something. Why must there be a single eternal thing made
up of many finite or limited things? It
must be one eternal something because in order for all of the limited things to
exist forever without end, they must all work together in unity. If they did not work in unity they could and
would conflict with one another and destroy one another. Only by working together in unity can these
eternal things exist forever in space and time.
But is it truly possible for
many limited things to make up one eternal something? Yes!
We have already provided an example of something that is eternal that is
made up of limited, finite things. The
number line is eternal. You can count
backwards or forwards forever without end in either direction; either positive
or negative. However, the infinite
number line is made up of limited numbers, at least 2. Therefore, we can see that it is possible,
and in fact it must be, that limited things can and do work together to create
unlimited, eternal things.
So if something is eternal then
it must be made up of many finite things which exist in all directions
throughout all time, but each and every one of these finite things that make up
this eternal something MUST and DO co-exist in total unity and peace. The moment you create disunity you create the
potential and the likelihood that all things will be destroyed. Since the very idea of an eternal something
means that it is without beginning or end, that means that in order for it to
be eternal all of its parts must be indestructible. Only if all of its parts work together is it
then indestructible.
Using the number line again as
an example, all of the numbers create an infinite timeline as long as they work
together obeying the set rules or pattern that govern them. As long as 1 comes after 0 and 2 comes after
1, and so on you can keep counting forever.
However, the moment conflict comes into play, the system begins to break
down. If while counting from 0 to 1 some
opposing force comes along to stop 1 from changing to 2 or even back to 0, the
entire system locks up. NO change continues
on from that point. Therefore, in order
for the number line to be eternal all the numbers MUST obey the same rules and
guidelines, working together in unity.
