The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 3: Understanding the Trinity: Other Evidences
Other Evidences
What other evidence seems to
indicate that this is true? Our
imaginations are like computers. Our
minds can actually generate worlds much faster than a video game can. Therefore, if you think about it, our minds
are far more powerful than any computer (no matter how much that computer might
be able to outsmart you in some game).
Oh sure, computers might do math faster and pull up information with
precision while our minds can be clunky and slow in these matters, but our
minds are great at developing mental images in moments.
For example, if I wanted to
develop an avatar for a video game, it might take me an hour to play around
with a video game’s character creation menus.
I might cycle through endless numbers of traits before finally finding
the look that I want. However, in my
mind, I could create what a character looks like instantly. I can create images in my imagination of
forests and oceans and mountains and rivers and storms and space and people…you
name it! I can do it in moments.
So if you don’t like to think of
it as a computer, think of it as an imagination. God’s perfect imagination has dreamed us all
into creation. He dreams up every last
detail about us. However, in order to
create such dreams, three things must exist.
First, there must be a life force within you that provides you with the
ability to have your own thoughts and energy.
This means that the spirit must be real.
There must be something that tells your mind what things look like. Definitions, the flesh, the word, must then
be real. There must be something that
puts all these things in order and decides which definitions it likes and wants
to place within the imagination.
So regardless of which way you
look at it, the body, soul and spirit must be realities. Their properties, the flesh being
self-centered, the spirit being other-centered and the soul being the judge and
king, these all seem to pop out if you just observe these three elements and
what they do. It only makes sense that
the self-centered part of a person is the body, since it is the definition that
defines all things including the programming, what you like and dislike,
etc. It only makes sense that the spirit
is the other-centered part, because it is always moving and doing and giving
life to all things and transmitting information from one thing to another. It, therefore, only makes sense that the soul
is the judge and king because without that part of you everything would be
chaos. There would be no ruler to decide
which way to go on any matter.
