The Mystery of Creation: Chapter 3: Understanding the Trinity: The Models of God
Chapter 3: Understanding the Trinity
The Models of God
We now know that God is the Eternal
Something. Therefore, we know “who”
created the universe. Now we need to
figure out “how” He did it and “why”. What
I have determined is that after you know the “how” it is pretty easy to figure
out the “why”. However, in order to know
the “how” we must first understand more of who God really is. How can we know more about who God is?
In order to better understand
something, usually a model is required.
For example, scientists use a model to explain how DNA works. This is the double-helix model. A person would have a truly difficult time
understanding anything about DNA without this model.
So what model can we use to
understand God? In order to have a
decent model that we can use to understand God we need something with higher
intelligence. God is obviously the highest
of all intelligences, since He is all knowing.
Therefore, we can only use that which has the highest intelligence we
can find.
And so, I will use two
models. The first is a computer. The second is a human being. Since humans are the highest intelligence we
have, and computers can rival human intelligence (even being able to beat them in
video games if you put their challenge levels on difficult) these are obviously
the best two models that we can use to understanding God better.
I will start with the computer
because computers are built by humans. Since
humans did not build themselves, it is hard to use humans as a model. We don’t know everything there is to know
about humans. Since computers are built
by humans we have the ability to completely understand how they work. However, I do think that once we start
examining computers and relating them to God, and to humans, I think you will
soon find that we will understand a bit more how humans are truly made.
